Without any protection on them, in the middle of the blaze, residents are taking all the risks to slow the advance of the fire in Portugal. It is a new night of fighting against the flames in the country. A little further away, houses are burning. It is dangerous to approach. A house exploded, but fortunately, it was unoccupied. These fires have been hitting the north and center of the country since September 14.
In one village, residents managed to put out the fire late at night with very little resources, because the hoses were too short and the firefighters were not present. The fire left behind destroyed houses and burnt vegetation. At this time, there are still about ten major fires burning in Portugal.
