A sharp increase in mobilization. The participation rate in the first round of the legislative elections, Sunday June 30, amounts to 25.90% to noon, according to the Interior Ministry. A figure much higher than in 2022 at the same time, when 18.43% of voters went to the polls. The final participation then reached 47.51%, the lowest for a first round of legislative elections in the history of the Fifth Republic.

In detail, Aveyron, Bouches-du-Rhône and Gers are the departments where the participation rates were the highest at midday, with respectively 34.41%, 33.70% and 33.61% of voters. . Conversely, voters from Seine-Saint-Denis (17.93%), Val-de-Marne (18.29%) and Hauts-de-Seine (18.47%) hardly moved to the ballot boxes in the morning.

If we observe territorial disparities, all departments see their participation increase compared to the first round of the 2022 legislative elections. Among those who voted the most, we find, for example, Finistère, Paris, Dordogne and Bouches-du-Rhône which gain around 13 points of participation each. These local trends could change by the time the polls close, between 6 and 8 p.m. depending on the city.
