In the war between Israel and Hamas, no truce was observed on Monday, October 16, and Israel again bombed the Rafah crossing point, located on the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt. Is this crossing point the only one for Gazans trying to escape and to bring humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip? Response elements.
The Rafah crossing point, located on the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt, is currently closed. But on social networks, we find images of convoys with trucks as far as the eye can see, there to provide help. In reality, this video dates from 2021. In another video widely distributed on social networks, we can see civilian Egyptians crossing the border to help Gazans. But be careful: this video dates from last August… well before the start of the latest Hamas attacks against Israel. They would in reality be smugglers between Libya and Egypt.
Attempts to minimize the victims
Some pro-Israel tweets accuse Palestinians of transporting fake corpses. This video actually dates from confinement during Covid-19. Young people tried to fake funerals in order to get around bans on going out. These accusations of staging are found on both the Israeli and Palestinian sides.
