Have politicians found the missing link between them and young people aged 18 to 34? The star influencers of social networks could serve as their relay. Like Magali Berdah, whom “Complément d’Enquête” met.

The one who is considered the “boss of influencers” is not content to manage the careers of a hundred reality TV stars via her agency Shauna Events: Magali Berdah also puts herself on stage. And this former insurance broker now prides herself on politics.

She is known all the way to the Elysée; during the last presidential campaign, she was received by the main candidates, even from the extreme right (Eric Zemmour, whom she asks if he is racist, or Marine Le Pen) to the left (she proposes to Jean- Luc Melenchon from “chatting” for “get to know him”). She plays proximity, assumes its benevolence and popularizes its message as much as possible – she admits to avoiding substantive questions, conscious of not having “not the shoulders for”. Magali Berdah wants to be a “Madame Tout-le-monde, who does not vote, who is out of politics, who does not understand, who wants to have her first questions answered”…

An audience right in “the right age group”

However, on social networks, “Madame Tout-le-monde” is not just anyone. Posted on his YouTube channel, his videos reach several hundred thousand views. That day, in less than four hours, that of Valérie Pécresse was already at 6,363. The statistics of her channel, with her audience in “the right age group”, between the ages of 18 and 34, are enough to make politicians dream… those who are struggling to attract this generation to the polls. Wouldn’t they instrumentalize the influencer? When asked, she sees no problem in responding to a clearly expressed need on their part…

Excerpt from “Scams, money and politics: the real business of influencers”, a document from “Complementary investigation” to be seen on September 8, 2022.
