In images of the October 7 attack, we discover the first indications of sexual violence against Israeli women. The most direct testimonies are those of survivors of the attack on the music festival, attacked by the Hamas. At this site, 260 people were killed. The terrorists remained there for several hours. Hidden, festival-goers witness scenes of rape. Witnesses confided in the police.
“She was naked”
Sheli Harushan Israeli police investigator, reports the confessions of a witness: “I remember a terrorist pulling a woman by the hair. She was naked. He cut off one of her breasts and threw them on the ground. They played with. (…) Her rapist shot her in the head.” Many of the women and girls who suffered this violence are no longer here to talk about it. A rescuer describes a mutilated body: “At his crotch, in the inner part, a pair of scissors or a knife had been stuck.” For a victim’s lawyer, attacking women is no coincidence.
