Renfe will offer routes from Lyon and Marseille to Madrid and Barcelona. For its introductory offer, the company will offer attractive prices, from 9 euros.
Renfe, the Spanish railway company, arrives in France. From Lyon (Rhône) and Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), it will be possible to reach Barcelona and Madrid, in Spain. The call price is aggressive from 9 euros per ticket. The Spanish TGV will pass through Montpellier (Hérault). Near the station, SNCF regulars await it impatiently. “To go to Lyon […] it was 70 euros, so 9 euros, there is no photo”, says a user. Another regrets that “that’s not French” and “SNCF does not lower prices”.
A limited time offer
For a Lyon-Montpellier, prices will start at 9 euros, 19 euros for a Montpellier-Barcelona, and 29 euros for a Lyon-Barcelona. However, these prices are likely to increase. “It’s a promotional offer from the start. Afterwards, our prices will change according to demand and distances”, says the company. For experts, Spanish trains should remain competitive. Renfe trains will start running in France in July. Sales will open in a few days.
