Euro 2025 qualifiers: France – Ireland summary_copy
Summary France-Ireland
(France Televisions)
Grace Geyoro’s teammates held their place against Ireland by winning (1-0) in Metz on Friday in the first qualifying match for Euro 2025.
They checked almost everything. Against Ireland, Friday April 5 in Metz, the French team won (1-0) and pocketed three important points to temporarily place themselves at the top of their qualifying group for Euro 2025 in Switzerland. Optimists will remember the quantity of chances, with Kenza Dali in charge, but also the defensive solidity, Ireland not having been dangerous once.
Others will argue that France only won by one goal, the fault of a lack of precision in the last gesture, as recognized by the coach, Hervé Renard. The Blues nevertheless reassured themselves in the game, but only Marie-Antoinette Katoto, superbly offset by Maëlle Lakrar on a free kick, found the net. A success that will have to be regained between now and the next match against Sweden, on April 9.
