Reacting to the three gun murders that occurred in less than 24 hours, targeting random people, Minister Mendicino said the suspect will face justice.

“With the progress this morning with [l’arrestation] individuals, we can be confident that the action to be taken… I hope that this individual will be brought before the court for justice,” he said Thursday morning.

The problem is that the 26-year-old individual suspected of having killed the three innocent victims was shot dead by SPVM police officers near a motel in the Saint-Laurent borough, and therefore will never face to justice.

The Minister would therefore probably have been misinformed of the particularly rapid developments in this matter.

The Bureau of Independent Investigations (BEI) launched an investigation, and the Sûreté du Québec took over from the SPVM regarding the three murders.

According to our information, the suspect suffered from mental health problems.
