Stuttering, suffering from Down syndrome, profoundly deaf… Suffering from a disability, they took on the challenge of participating in the Eloquence of Difference competition. Brut followed Lou, who was deaf from birth.

Lou is 25 years old. Deaf from birth, she hears nothing when she is not equipped with hearing aids. Today is a special day for her: she is participating in the Eloquence of Difference competition. The homonymous association specializes in speaking programs for people with disabilities. Lou must reflect on stage on the question “Do the ends justify the means?”. After some doubts, the young girl managed to prepare a text with which she is satisfied.

“We realize that allowing people to do what seems impossible allows us to completely change our self-confidence and the way we experience our disability” comments Mounah Bizri, president and founder of the Eloquence of Difference association. Lou’s appearance on stage went well. ”Nice adventure”, confides the young girl after her performance. A victim of school bullying in her early childhood, Lou is proud to have nurtured her self-confidence. At the end of the day, Lou is rewarded with the emotion prize of the competition. “I am very proud, very proud” Lou explains.
