The French actress, producer and director Julie Gayet is at the origin of the “Sœurs Jumelles” Festival, which aims to link image to music. For Brut, she explains why women are still too little represented in the audiovisual sector.
“Anything that has an image like that, a bit technical, is not for us girls”. On the occasion of the Twin Sisters Festival, Julie Gayet talks about the low representation of women in her community.
“Women film directors, they are 27%, in animation they are 12%. Women composers are… less than 3%”, confides the young woman.
“I sincerely think that it is infused into society and that is what is very complicated and takes a long time to change. This is the image that society gives to women: everything that is mathematical is not for they.“
For the actress and producer, “the future of women is together”. The “Twin Sisters” Festival will take place in Rochefort from June 22 to 25. It will bring together gamers, youtubers, directors and composers.
