One in ten French people would have been the victim of incest, these sexual assaults committed within families. For a year, thousands of people, all over France, gave their testimony to the Independent Commission on Incest and Sexual Abuse of Children (Ciivise).
Exceptionally, “Special Envoy” was authorized to film a public meeting organized by this commission, in the presence of its co-chairs, where victims of all generations testify.
A grueling legal journey
You discover the testimony of Magali, 27, who, in order to rebuild herself, filed a complaint against her brother after years of sexual assault. You also hear the words of this mother whose child denounces touching imposed by his father, who nevertheless retains joint custody during the investigation.
Finally, there are the words of Tatiana, 35, who managed to get justice after being raped for years by her stepfather. She denounces a psychologically and financially trying judicial journey, and is now fighting for real prevention in schools.
