“I want to be the spokesperson for all the people who don’t have the courage to speak as I do”. Since June 6, Amaury has been on a hunger strike at Thor station, where he is banned from taking the train because of his disability.
“Currently, I am in the station of Thor because I decided since Monday June 6 to embark on a hunger strike. I decided to take action to assert my rights.”
Amaury is 32 years old and uses a wheelchair. He recently started a hunger strike in order to demand better accessibility to stations, whether in urban or rural areas.
“How is it that we renovate other stations in other larger towns and we forget the small towns? Small towns must not be forgotten and the rural world must be defended.”
What he is asking for is a “standard dock”with “normal height” so that he can board the train alone, without having a third person. “At 32, being accompanied by a third person, I don’t call that being independent.“
