A crew of gendarmes was rescued by a group of farmers, on the sidelines of the convoy that left Lot-et-Garonne which was trying to cross the Loire to reach Rungis to demonstrate their anger. The video has 600,000 views on TikTok.
“I warn you, the invoice goes back to the Ministry of the Interior!“The farmers of the Lot-et-Garonne Rural Coordination are laughing, the gendarmes are laughing a little sickly. The scene takes place in a field between Saint-Cyr and Saint-Denis-en-Val in the Loiret, in southeast of Orléans this January 31 around 1 p.m.
The Rural Coordination convoy, which left Lot-et-Garonne a few days earlier, was closely followed by a car from the Loiret gendarmerie. But if the tractors easily manage to cross the fields, the gendarmerie crew finds itself bogged down.

Farmers help out stuck gendarmes

Stuck, the gendarmes called a tow truck from the Venot garage in Semoy. But once there, Florent Bajeux, the driver of the tow truck, encountered another problem. “The tow truck is twelve tons, it’s very complicated to intervene“, he tells France 3. “I would have been stuck too.“
One of the “four or five tractors” present in the area comes to the news. Rather than heading towards the gendarmes, still stuck, the farmers first stop near the tow truck, believing that it is also stuck in the mud. “They came to see if I needed help“, continues Florent Bajeux. “I told them that I had come for the gendarmes, but that I wasn’t going to be able to do much, and I asked them for a helping hand.“
The farmers therefore take the wrecker to the shipwrecked gendarmes. After a few minutes, the car was rescued. History does not say whether the police and the farmers took a break before resuming their game of cat and mouse.
