A woman lay in critical condition on Monday evening after being hit by a car in Victoriaville, in the Centre-du-Québec region.
The police received a call around 6:30 p.m. on Monday to report a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Bois-Franc Boulevard in Victoriaville.
The driver of the vehicle was traveling northbound in the right lane when a pedestrian crossed the boulevard when there was no signage, said Catherine Bernard, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.
The driver of the vehicle had to be treated for a nervous shock while the pedestrian was transported to a hospital, where there were still fears for her life.
“A police officer in collision investigation went on site to understand the exact circumstances of this accident,” added Ms. Bernard.
