The Cégep de Lanaudière is forced to suspend its activities this Monday and Tuesday, due to a cyberattack in which some of its servers were the target last Friday.
“Although the investigation is still ongoing, external cybersecurity experts are closely monitoring the “dark Web” and fortunately, confirm to us that at this time, no data leak is suspected,” said Marilyn Sansregret , communications coordinator for the establishment.
However, management has chosen to temporarily close the doors of its establishments in Joliette, L’Assomption, Terrebonne, as well as in Repentigny, where its head office is located. This decision was taken “in order to avoid any problems linked to access to the premises which are for the most part electronic”, explained Mme Without regret.
The Cégep de Lanaudière assures that it will spare no effort to restore the system safely, as quickly as possible. An action plan has been deployed to ensure the servers are back up and running, said Marilyn Sansregret, without providing further details.
