We knew since As an aside on Canal +, last November 30, that Vianney is close to Jean-Jacques Goldman. He who describes himself on his Instagram account as a “song doctor” turned more than once to the master of the discipline. Songwriter for so many artists from Céline Dion to Johnny Hallyday, Jean-Jacques Goldman ended his solo career in 2004. And while Vianney decided to take a break from the stage for several years, he explained that he would not go as far as his idol, to our colleagues at TV Mag.
Jean-Jacques Goldman would not touch “not even a piano or a guitar anymore”
Indeed, this February 8, 2024, Edgar’s dad explained about this break: “I gave myself the luxury of sleeping at home. This was no longer the case. Half the year I was away. Before, I was crazy, even on Saturdays and Sundays, I worked at the studio. Even if I still work a lot during the day, at least in the evening and morning I see the people I love. I organize myself differently. Sometimes I do promotion, it’s less rewarding than the studio, but it’s part of my job“.
Does this mean that it will disappear completely as Jean-Jacques Goldman was able to do? Vianney replies: “I don’t know. We don’t have the same career that I can’t imagine“. It must be said that Michaël Goldman’s dad, who decided to be more present with his family – his wife, Nathalie, and their daughters Maya (born in 2004), Kimi (born in 2005) and Rose (born in 2007) – was radical.
Vianney reports: “He told me that he doesn’t even touch a piano or a guitar anymore.” And commented: “For me, it would be impossible to imagine. I write and compose all the time. On the other hand, media withdrawal, I know it will happen to me“.
Write for others
After his withdrawal, Jean-Jacques Goldman continued to write for others, Calogero, Patrick Fiori, Liane Foly and of course Céline Dion. He was the leader of the Enfoirés until 2016, before handing over. Since then, in his wake, Vianney has written an anthem for the troupe, “We trace”, in 2019. And he announced his intention to write for others, Kendji Girac in the lead. But the comparison stops there.
