Valérie Pécresse has been in the spotlight since she started her campaign for the 2022 presidential elections, validating the number of sponsorships sufficient to run for the supreme position. Two months before the election, the 54-year-old politician must overcome many obstacles, such as declining polls, especially since her meeting at the Zenith in Paris or accusations of a bogus election during the LR primaries. But the president of the Ile-de-France region is tough. What is more difficult is when the trials concern his children. Mother of three children with Jérôme Pécresse, Baptiste (25), Clément (23) and Émilie (18), she remembers a particularly difficult time.
In an interview for the magazine CloserValérie Pécresse returns to a particular episode which dates back to the year 2016the arrest of his son Clément in possession of 3.8 grams of cannabis : “My son spent seven hours in custody for a joint. My opponents warned the media, it was looping on the networks. My son was an adult, a student. He no longer lived at home… He was very bruised. But it was meant to get to me. It could have broken up our family.“An Affair She Said Was”hairpin” by “collaborators of Claude Bartolone and Manuel Valls“, according to information reported by The chained Duck.
Valérie Pécresse had been strongly criticized since she was at the origin of the proposal to set up saliva tests in high schools on cannabis consumption. “There is a scourge in Île-de-France, it is school dropout. (…) Saliva tests are one of the tools for diagnosing the situation“, she said in 2016.
An incident that should not caricature the family she built with her husband as she claims in Closer : “Jérôme and I have organized ourselves so that we are always there for the children, whatever our schedules. We have long sacrificed outings and friends. We are a very close-knit family. The proof, this call just now, is my daughter asking me for help to get her washing machine back! (laughs) I couldn’t have started this campaign without the full support of my family. And yet, she’s been biting for 20 years.“
