Valentine’s Day | Time to say “I love you”

Forget flowers and chocolate, the best gift to give to loved ones can be summed up in one word: time. Here are some ideas for Valentine’s Day outings.

A coffee for you

Waking up with an already brewed coffee whose taste and texture are as refined as those offered in a roastery is happiness! To make this pleasure a reality, the Saint-Henri microtorréfacteur offers introductory courses in its branches in Quebec and Montreal. From filter coffee to latte art, this is an opportunity to learn the basic techniques for preparing excellent coffee. We sign up for two to share an energizing moment or we go solo, then on the morning of February 14, we decorate the café with a heart of frothed milk.

Price: $95

Café Saint-Henri, 7335 Mile End Street, Montreal

Café Saint-Henri Saint-Roch, 849 Saint-Joseph Street East, Quebec

On Valentine’s Day, in the Old Port of Montreal, the skating rink will be animated by a DJ who will play the most beautiful love songs over the speakers.

To break the routine, put on your skates and meet in the Old Port of Montreal on Valentine’s Day. Starting at 7:30 p.m., the skating rink will be animated by drag queen Chouchoune. She will read words of love, broadcast special musical requests over the loudspeakers and hand out glowing hearts to the skaters. Access to the ice rink is chargeable, but at the foot of the illuminated Ferris wheel and skyscrapers, the atmosphere under the stars promises to be romantic.

Price: $8.25 + tax per person

His “Dumplings Dates” take place in his studio located in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district of Montreal. The concept is simple: 10 singles come together to cook and, perhaps, find love. It organizes parties for heterosexuals, homosexuals and lesbians.

Several dates offered in February and March.
