Update
According to figures from Public Health France, the incidence rate in children aged 6-10 is 918 cases per 100,000 children, double the French average. The government is currently considering the vaccination of children.
According to figures given by Public Health France, the rate of positive cases for Covid-19 in children aged 6 to 10 years is much higher than the national average. In 34 departments in France, the incidence rate exceeds 1,000 per 100,000 children in this age group. The fifth wave relaunches a debated question: should children under 12 be vaccinated?
Parents, near Nice (Alpes-Maritimes) in particular, are not necessarily in favor, scientists are also divided while the government is studying this issue on Monday, December 6 during a Health Defense Council. The pediatric society is particularly awaiting immunization data for children in the United States. The High Authority for Health will study the issue of vaccination of the youngest and for the moment they have given the green light to children who are at risk of developing a serious form of the coronavirus.
