Joe Biden has confirmed accusing his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin of committing a “genocide” in Ukraine, Tuesday April 12, a word hitherto used by the Ukrainian head of state Volodymyr Zelensky but never by the American administration. “Yes, I called it a genocide”replied the American president to journalists during a trip to Iowa, a few hours after mentioning this term during a speech devoted to the fight against inflation.
“It is increasingly clear that Putin is simply trying to erase the very idea of being a Ukrainian”, developed the American president. Yes “the lawyers, at the international level”will decide on the qualification of genocide, “to me it looks good”, he assured. Affirming that the “evidence was piling up” about the “Horrible things the Russians did in Ukraine”the Democrat predicted that the world “would find out even more about the devastation”.
>> Can we speak of a “genocide” perpetrated by the Russian army, as President Volodymyr Zelensky says?
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky praised on Twitter the “true words from a true leader”because “Calling things by their proper name is essential in opposing evil”while claiming “urgently more heavy weapons”.
True words of a true leader @POTUS. Calling things by their names is essential to stand up to evil. We are grateful for US assistance provided so far and we urgently need more heavy weapons to prevent further Russian atrocities.

The situation is particularly critical in Mariupol, a besieged city, cut off from the world and bombarded for more than 40 days. “The only special operation that Putin has carried out is a special operation to destroy Mariupol and kill civilians”mayor Vadym Boychenko launched on Telegram. “Fascist Germany in 1941 seemed invincible. But in the end evil was punished. War criminals rotted in prisons or were eliminated. For decades the Germans paid reparations. So will even with Russia. They will pay for everything.”
