Urban violence in Laval: a man arrested for possession of a firearm

A 29-year-old man was arrested on September 14 for having displayed his firearm a few months earlier and discharging projectiles into the air in the parking lot of a business in Laval.

The facts date back to May 27 when witnesses allegedly observed Jean-Élie L’Espérance committing these acts in the middle of the night, in the parking lot of a drinking establishment in the Chomedey district. He then allegedly fled in his vehicle.

The suspect now faces charges of possession of a restricted firearm, possession of a loaded restricted firearm, as well as possession of a prohibited device.

He remains detained since his appearance until his appearance in court on September 21, indicated the Laval Police Department, which was in charge of his arrest.
