Mackenzie Hughes was among the Maple Leaf representatives who qualified for the major tournament in Dallas. The others are Ben Silverman, who will play his first career Grand Slam tournament, Nick Taylor and Roger Sloan.

Thirteen players gathered in Dallas obtained their passes, as well as three others in Japan.

These 36-hole qualifying tournaments were the first opportunities to earn a bye to the US Open, which takes place June 16-19 in suburban Boston.

The Texas Qualifier is one of the most important as a PGA Tour stop will be held nearby at the Colonial later this week.

The other qualifying tournaments will take place on June 6, the Monday before the week of the US Open.
