The Cypress Garden, in the United States, is an aquatic labyrinth. It can be visited in small boats, in the middle of plants and alligators. The place, little known, is nevertheless spectacular.

It looks like a simple forest, but the century-old trees are firmly anchored in the water. the Cypress Garden includes one of the most beautiful marshes in North Carolina South. Walkers venture only by boat in this aquatic labyrinth. After having worked for more than thirty years in the metallurgy, dicky became a park guide. He knows every corner of the swamp. The water looks black, but it is not. In reality, the needles of the cypress trees fall to the bottom of the water every autumn. They have what is called tannin which, when rotting, turns black. It is this reflection that we see”explains the guide.

The marsh is also a refuge for animals, with turtles, snakes and raptors. Butthe real stars of the park make discreet : the alligators. The setting has served as the setting for some twenty films, such as the romantic The Notebook.
