United States: California hit by a snowstorm

Snow on the beaches of California, the great white on the west of the United States, an exceptional climatic episode which has been falling for a few days in the region nevertheless renowned for its sunshine. Traffic conditions are tricky with cut roads and snow plows trying to clear the road. 100,000 homes would be without electricity, the consequence of one of the worst winter storms in decades.

But the snowfall also delights children and surprises adults, some of whom immortalize the scene. “It’s been a long time since I’ve seen snow and I miss it”says a man. “It’s amazing, we come here regularly and see all this landscape covered in snow, it’s really weird, it’s nice”adds another. In northern California, in a zoo, polar bears take advantage of the powder snow.
