No evacuation corridor for civilians could be organized on Tuesday in Ukraine, for lack of agreement with the Russian side, and this for the third consecutive day, announced Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.

“Today, April 19, there is unfortunately no humanitarian corridor. Intense shelling continues in Donbass”, in the east of the country, where Russian forces according to kyiv launched a major offensive on Monday, Ms. Verechchuk said on Telegram.

Regarding Mariupol, a strategic city on the shores of the Sea of ​​Azov (southeast) besieged since the beginning of March, “the Russians refuse to open a corridor for the exit of civilians in the direction of Berdiansk”, a-t- she adds.

“We are continuing difficult talks for humanitarian corridors in the regions of Kherson (south) and Kharkiv (east),” said the official.
