Two seriously injured in a collision with a tree in Hochelaga

A car hit a tree, injuring two, including one in critical condition, on Friday evening, rue Saint-Donat, in the Hochelaga district.

The vehicle was traveling northbound on Saint-Donat Street, near Vincent Piette Street when it lost control and collided with a tree around 9:40 p.m.

Firefighters from the city’s fire department were asked for assistance to extricate the two people who were in the car, reported the spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), Véronique Comtois.

“The driver was transported to a hospital to treat serious injuries which did not, however, put his life in danger,” said the spokesperson.

The passenger was transported in critical condition.

The area is currently protected to allow investigators from the investigation and collision section to understand the causes and circumstances surrounding the accident.
