Two Rocket Quebecers recalled by the CH

The Montreal Canadiens proceeded to the emergency recall of Quebecers from the Laval Rocket Joël Teasdale and Frédéric Allard on Tuesday.

Second top scorer for Jean-François Houle’s men with 23 successes, Teasdale could taste the National Hockey League for the very first time. Never drafted, the 24-year-old left winger is in his third campaign with the American League school club.

Teasdale, a product of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada and the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, has amassed 38 points in 57 games this season.

“I had a good streak lately and it crossed my mind,” Teasdale said of a possible recall with the Habs. When Martin [St-Louis] and Kent [Hughes] met me yesterday [lundi], they told me it was to reward me for this year. I was very happy.”

“I slept very little and I’m very excited,” he added after the morning workout.

“It’s a pleasure to do that for a player,” said St-Louis. I went to see the game in Laval yesterday. Big win for them. To have the opportunity to bring news like this to a player is good.

Allard, meanwhile, will be on his second stint with the Canadiens. Acquired from the Los Angeles Kings in return for Nate Schnarr, the defender played in the March 5 match against the Vegas Golden Knights. In five games in Laval since, he has not collected any points.

“I am very happy. I didn’t expect to have another chance by the end of the season,” said Allard.

“Wearing the Canadiens jersey, whether it’s once or 200 times, is a dream every time.”

Sunday, the CH had returned to the American League attackers Rafaël Harvey-Pinard and Jesse Ylönen as well as defender Corey Schueneman and goalkeeper Cayden Primeau.

The CH trained in Brossard on Tuesday in preparation for their confrontation the next day against the Islanders in New York.
