Two individuals from Montérégie, who allegedly illegally imported several ghost guns into the country, are now facing justice, following an investigation led by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Stacy St-Pierre, 42, and Ruby Sharma, 45, both from Pointe-des-Cascades, near Vaudreuil-Dorion, were arrested and will have to appear on April 4, at the Saint-Jean courthouse. sur-Richelieu.
Charges of possession of weapons for the purpose of trafficking and unauthorized import or export should then be brought against them.
According to what the investigation established, the two suspects illegally smuggled six semi-automatic pistols across the land border of Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle.
“The handguns in question, privately manufactured Glock-type Polymer 80s without a serial number, are prohibited in Canada,” the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said in a press release.
They are called “ghost guns” because these homemade firearms cannot be identified due to the lack of a serial number.
