Two people lose their lives in two road trips

(Saint-Louis) A 62-year-old man lost his life at the end of the day on Saturday, following a road trip made while he was riding a motorcycle.

According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the emergency services were called around 6:15 p.m. about a road trip on rang Saint-François in Saint-Louis-de-Blandford, in the Center-du- Quebec.

The victim, a 62-year-old man from Victoriaville, left the road in a curve before ending up in a ditch.

Resuscitation maneuvers were carried out, but the man was found dead at the hospital.

He mows down a lamp post

In Château-Richer, near Quebec, a driver lost his life after mowing down a lamp post on Route 138 around 5 p.m. Saturday.

After its collision with the lamppost, the vehicle would have rolled over and the driver would have remained a prisoner inside.

His death was pronounced on the spot.

The road had to be closed in both directions to allow investigators to analyze the scene. “Speed ​​may have played a role” in the accident, said SQ spokesman Stéphane Tremblay.
