Two paintings from the Morozov collection, including that of a Russian oligarch and another belonging to a Ukrainian museum, exhibited at the Fondation Vuitton in Paris since September, will “stay in France”the Ministry of Culture told AFP on Saturday.

The first table “will remain in France as long as its owner, a Russian oligarch, remains subject to an asset freezing measure”said the ministry, without giving the name of the owner, while the second, belonging to the Museum of Fine Arts in Dnipropetrovsk in Ukraine, will remain “until the situation in the country allows his safe return”.

The exhibition devoted to the Morozov brothers, presented at the Vuitton Foundation, was a first outside of Russia in its scope. Building on its success with the public, it has been extended until April 3, 2022.
