A child and an adult from Var died in a minibus accident in Slovenia on Friday 5 July, Radio France learned from the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs on Saturday 6 July. According to the Var prefecture, two Var minibuses transporting children (aged 8 to 15) on a sports trip were involved in the accident.
The other children were taken into care. Some of them were hospitalized in shock. None of their life is in danger. The ministry’s crisis center, in conjunction with the French embassy in Ljubljana, has set up a unit to organize the repatriation of the children and their companions and provide psychological support to the families. A representative of the French embassy visited the scene of the accident on Friday.
