Two fires target the homes of elected officials in Saint-Pierre-des-Corps

The homes of Gania Bougadba and Laurence Lefevre, both deputy mayor of Saint-Pierre-des-Corps, were the target of fire on the night of December 23 to 24. No injuries are to be deplored.

Two fire starts in the same night, each in front of the homes of elected officials of the city. This is the result of this night from Thursday 23 to 24 December in Saint-Pierre-des-Corps, in Indre-et-Loire. Fortunately, no injuries are to be deplored.

It was 1:30 am when Gania Bougadba, Housing and Seniors Assistant, was warned by her neighbors. In front of his home on rue Paul-Desormeaux, his car is in flames. No other automobile is affected.

Near the station, rue Honoré-de-Balzac, it is the door of the house of Laurence Lefevre, Assistant for Health and Social Action, which is set on fire around 3 a.m. Quickly drowned by firefighters, the flames did little damage to the facade.

According to information from the Tours public prosecutor’s office, investigations were entrusted to the territorial directorate of the judicial police of Orléans and to the departmental directorate of public security in Indre-et-Loire. For willful degradation by fire committed because of the quality of depositary of the public authority, the penalty incurred is 20 years imprisonment and 150,000 euros fine.

The two elected officials jointly filed a complaint this Friday morning. If this is a first for Laurence Lefevre, the car of Gania Bougadba had already been set on fire last August.

The two elected officials had become deputy mayor following the municipal elections of June 2020, at the end of which Emmanuel François (DVD) ended a century of communist power at the head of Saint-Pierre-des-Corps. They are also members of the Central social activities fund of the municipality, in charge of various social activities.
