Two main members of the organization of cocaine trafficking between Kourou (Guyana) and Montpellier (Hérault) were sentenced to two and three years in prison, suspended, learned franceinfo from a source close to the investigation on Saturday March 26. These eight people are among the 22 who were arrested last Tuesday in Guyana and in the Occitanie region during the dismantling of cocaine trafficking which is suspected of having passed “more than 160 kg of cocaine for a total profit of more than 4.2 million euros” over the past three years.

In this network, 160 “mules” have been identified, some of which have “more than 30 trips during the year 2021”according to a statement from the Directorate of the National Gendarmerie released Friday evening.
