Tensions took place on Saturday in Brest near a hotel where the polemicist and politician Eric Zemmour was holding a signing session, according to information from France Bleu Breizh Izel. A window in the hotel was smashed, and a man was slightly injured.

Around 3 p.m., a demonstration against the long-planned immigration law, declared in the prefecture, took place on Place de la Liberté, in the center of Brest, not far from the Oceania hotel, where Eric Zemmour’s signing session for his last book I didn’t say my last word was planned. A few demonstrators gathered in front of the hotel.

Antifa collectives joined them at the gates of the hotel. About 250 people positioned themselves in front of the establishment, according to the journalist from France Bleu Breizh Izel, present on the spot. This is where the situation escalated. Tear gas was fired

Antifa activists attempted to enter the hotel to prevent the book signing from taking place. Blows were exchanged with supporters of Eric Zemmour. Tear gas was fired. A window in the hotel was broken, cans and other projectiles were thrown at people who came to the dedication as well as inside the hotel.
