Artistic workshops, setting up recording studios, creating murals, producing a short film, setting up sports teams, purchasing training equipment, social dancing evenings, raising awareness of sexual violence…
Montrealers under the age of 30 came up with so many ideas for the City’s “By and for young people” call for projects that the administration decided to double the total budget for the program, to make it go from 1.4 to 3 million.
The 52 projects selected in 17 boroughs aim to support initiatives led by young people, in collaboration with community organizations. The City wishes in particular that these activities contribute to the fight against armed violence, injustice, discrimination and violence, underlined the mayoress Valérie Plante, during an evening organized Tuesday at the town hall for young people whose projects were retained.
This call for projects was launched on the sidelines of the second participatory budget of the City of Montreal in the fall of 2022.
