A 47-year-old hiker has been missing in the Hohneck massif (Vosges) since Sunday, December 19, reports France Bleu Alsace. The research undertaken Monday, with the help of about twenty gendarmes and a helicopter, have so far given nothing.
This woman, originally from Epinal, left for a hike alone, Sunday, from Hohneck, towards Kasterlberg, on the border between the Vosges department and Haut-Rhin. It was her son, worried about not being able to reach her, who warned the gendarmes on Monday morning. The 40-year-old’s car was found near the parking lot of an inn, at the starting point of her hike.
A vast device to find her has been deployed in the area. About twenty soldiers from the two departments crisscrossed the massif, accompanied by a dog team from Nancy, as well as a helicopter from the Meyenheim gendarmerie.
Research will resume on Tuesday morning.
