L’Anzac Day is the commemoration of the commitment of Australians and New Zealanders during the First World War. The ceremony took place in Villers-Bretonneux in the Somme, Monday, April 25.

In Villers-Bretonneux (Sum)Monday April 25, the Aboriginal didgeridoo again fills the First World War memorial. The descendants of soldiers are back, allowed to come and pay homage to their ancestors. “It’s very good to be here. It took two years before we could travel again. It’s wonderful to be part of this event.”says one of them. 46 Australians died on the Western Front during the First World War.

The portraits of these soldiers are projected for a moment, the time of a ceremony. Australia has honored its sacrifices since 1916. “As an Australian, this ceremony and the commitment of these soldiers is very important”says a woman. When the celebration is over, some spectators approach the wall where the names of the soldiers are inscribed, in search of their ancestors.
