Before the first round of the legislative elections, Sunday June 30, it is difficult to know whether or not there will be an absolute majority for one of the 3 main camps within the National Assembly.
The results of the first round of the legislative elections on June 30 should be marked by numerous triangles, with three candidates qualified for the second round. In general, the two candidates who come first in the first round in a constituency are qualified for the second round. But a third candidate can also rise there if he brings together at least 12.5% of voters registered on the electoral lists. In the second round, the candidate who came first is elected, even if he does not obtain more than 50% of the votes.
Triangulars remain rare during legislative elections, in particular because of the participation rate which has fallen significantly in recent years. For the legislative vote on June 30, high participation is expected. In the second round, withdrawals could play a key role and the Republican barrier calling for voting for the best placed against the far right could also intervene.
