It is “Trex Tea” infusions, “Trex Cap” capsules and “Trex Plus” tablets, sold in shops, markets and on the internet, which are affected by this ban. The description of these products on the Internet is reassuring. They are presented as being made “herbal” and not having “no known side effects”. The ingredients that make up these products (cardamom, ginger, fennel, dill and cloves) promise to be able to help you lose weight.

Serious adverse side effects

But poison control centers and pharmacovigilance centers have reported about twenty victims of serious adverse side effects. After analysis, the ANSM found sibutramine and sildenafil in their composition. Sibutramine was banned in Europe almost 15 years ago due to serious side effects. Sildenafil is present in Viagra and can also trigger side effects.

In France, about twenty people who took these products were victims of heart rhythm disorders, epileptic attacks, headaches, dizziness, tachycardia, chest pain or even hypertension. These Trex brand products are now prohibited for sale. The National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products requests that they no longer be consumed.
