With the health crisis, the production of certain toys in Asia has fallen behind, not to mention the difficulties of logistics and transport. Manufacturers of wooden toys may well be doing well for Christmas.

Noel is already preparing, in a small company in Roubaix (North). We assemble the different pieces of a brand new game, ready to go to the store. “We returned in the two months when the temperature began to rise, with the dealers who are making their last restockings”, confides the co-founder of Sloli, Francois-Xavier Poulain.

For two years, Sloli has been designing eco-themed games, exclusively built in France. The solid wood dice and pawns come from the Jura, an ethical choice that could pay off this year, as a shortage of toys looms. “The games are here. They will be there for Christmas, since they come from very close to here”, comments Morgan de Villers, the co-founder. In Sailly-sur-La-Lys, in Pas-de-Calais, a store specializing in traditional games will indeed find it difficult to offer certain items from Asia.
