The first stage of the race for the White House will begin Monday, January 15, in the state of Iowa, with the Republican primary. Three candidates face each other, in a campaign where anything goes.
Donald Trump, the big favorite, Nikki Haley, former ambassador to the UN, and Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida: three candidates, for the most extreme primary in Iowa (United States). The campaign is the most expensive ever recorded with nearly $100 million spent by each candidate, particularly on advertisements, the best way in the United States to discredit one’s opponent.
Making a Difference in Iowa
During Donald Trump’s meeting, during the morning of Sunday January 14, criticism was strong against Nikki Haley. “She’s a politician. As soon as something is popular, she tells you that’s what she believes in.”, comments a man. To win Iowa, the candidates also know that they must make a difference to the 3.2 million residents of the rural and conservative state.
To do this, they can count on an army of volunteers. Despite the -25°C, Ron DeSantis supporters continued to knock on doors. In the HQs, hundreds of volunteers also come to make the final phone calls, in order to convince the undecided.
