The Quebec Court of Appeal dismissed Tony Accurso’s appeal, confirming at the same time the 4-year prison sentence imposed on him.
The man had been found guilty by a jury on June 25, 2018 of having participated in a system of fraud and corruption in the municipal affairs of the city of Laval.
In July 2018, Superior Court Judge James Brunton imposed a 4-year prison sentence on him, which Tony Accurso also appealed.
In its 76-page judgment delivered on Thursday, the court rejects his appeals of sentences and verdicts.
She orders him to surrender to prison authorities by June 1.
Further details will follow.
