This is the most unpleasant moment on the motorway and it will be even more so from Tuesday February 1st. Toll rates will indeed increase by 2% on average to the great despair of motorists. “They take us for pigeons”, says one of them. “Soon it will be a luxury to ride in fact”, retorts another. They denounce an unfair system compared to our Swiss neighbor which allows the purchase of a sticker valid all year round to travel on the motorway.

This price increase is automatic, as they are indexed to inflation. In Belfort (Territoire de Belfort), many motorists have therefore chosen the Nationale. A bakery located near one of these roads has also seen its clientele increase, because this does not represent “not many more kilometers”. Only prices on journeys of less than 50 km will be frozen for this time.
