A health defense council will be held on Monday, December 6, as Christmas approaches. Several avenues are on the table, such as the strengthening of teleworking, the introduction of gauges or the general wearing of masks outdoors.

Christmas and the holidays of the year are just around the corner. At the same time, the rates of Covid-19 contamination are skyrocketing again. The government is working on several tracks, while a health defense council will take place on Monday, December 6. “I would much rather get the vaccine than be confined again. For everyone’s morale, I think this is important.”, explains a man. The concern is keen, so many French people choose to be vaccinated.

Will a new turn of the screw be decided? There shouldn’t be any re-containment or curfew, but several avenues are on the table. A strong incentive for teleworking, for example. “It can have an impact on the contaminations that take place during work, but also during catering and in transport”, estimates Dr Pascal Crépey, epidemiologist. The return of gauges to shopping centers or restaurants is being considered. The latter are pessimistic about the holidays, while cancellations are multiplying. The mask could make a comeback outdoors. A modification of the dates of the school holidays is not excluded, while the unions are rather asking for a stricter protocol.
