The inhabitants of the northern districts of Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône) are in shock, Monday, April 3. On the night of April 2, three people lost their lives in shootings. The vital prognosis of a fourth is engaged. This renewed violence worries the inhabitants.

The cries of anger from the inhabitants, after a night of rare violence in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône). “It has to stop. It’s more and more violent“, deplores a woman, Monday, April 3. A stray bullet can happen to me.“It is 11:30 p.m., Sunday April 2, in the city of Castellas, when bursts of Kalashnikovs sound in front of shops. Two men aged 21 and 23 die on the spot. Dominique Laurens, public prosecutor, indicates that he “It is obvious that these facts are linked to a logic of vendetta, a logic of reprisals”.

Endless reprisals?

A second shooting then occurs in the Aygalades district. An hour later, a new attack occurs in La Joliette, in the city center. This time, the shots targeted three teenagers. The oldest is only 16 years old. For the moment, no link has been established between the three shootings, but the authorities are worried about unlimited reprisals between rival traffickers. Since the beginning of the year, 14 people have been killed in Marseille on the background of drug trafficking.
