Three individuals were remanded in custody in Quimper (Finistère) after the interception of a go fast party from Spain which resulted in the seizure of 115 kg of cannabis resin, the National Gendarmerie announced on Sunday September 25. The operation was launched on Wednesday night with the assistance of GIGN. She was aiming to intercept “a convoy of two vehicles, returning from the south of Spain and going up the Atlantic coast, crossing Deux-Sèvres and Charente-Maritime”.

Two men “very unfavorably known” were arrested and “nearly 115 kilograms of cannabis resin” were seized inside the carrier vehicle, according to the gendarmerie. “A woman belonging to this same network” was also arrested at her home in Quimperlé (Finistère). All three were taken into custody.

The three suspects were then brought before a judge and remanded in custody. They are accused of “drug trafficking, importing narcotics, participation in a criminal association, possession of weapons and category B ammunition”.
