She had tried to make people believe it was a burglary which turned into a tragedy… Finally,
Justine Jotham admitted to stabbing her husband barely 24 hours after being taken into police custody last Wednesday September 20.
As a reminder,
this 37-year-old municipal councilor herself contacted the police following the death of her husband on the night of Sunday to Monday, September 18. On their arrival, the police were then greeted by the mother who was holding her 20-month-old baby in her arms while the body of Patrice Charlemagne was discovered a few moments later on the first floor of the couple’s pavilion located not far from the town of Dunkirk.

The burglary trail quickly swept away by investigators
While Justine Jotham had claimed that men had broken into the family home before attacking her husband, the investigators quickly wanted to favor leads other than that of the burglary. And for good reason, the discovery of two bloody knives, a flashlight and gloves were soon found near the couple’s home… Including a glove that had a cut similar to the wound the 30-year-old had on her left hand. So many elements which justify the placement in police custody of the mother.
A stuffed toy
A police custody after which Justine Jotham was finally indicted and placed in pre-trial detention for “assassination” this Friday, September 22, 2023 indicates the Dunkirk public prosecutor’s office.
“My client was cooperative during police custody and will maintain this position,” reacted to AFP Ms. Jotham’s lawyer, Charlotte Catrix, subsequently specifying thate “her child is a primary source of concern”. As proof, the municipal councilor arrived in court clutching a stuffed toy belonging to her one and a half year old granddaughter.
