The pension reform, whose vote in Parliament takes place on Thursday March 16, 2023, “will be defeated”, launches on France Inter François Ruffin, deputy La France insoumise of the Somme. For the deputy Insoumis, it will be played “either in the National Assembly by our votes, or tomorrow or the day after by the French”. François Ruffin puts forward the relative majority of the government which needs votes, in particular on the right, to be able to have its text adopted in the National Assembly.
Even if the National Assembly were to adopt the pension reform, François Ruffin is categorical, social protest “won’t stop tonight”according to him. “The refineries are blocked, the garbage is not collected, the ports are dead”, lists the LFI deputy for the Somme. If he supports “all workers who have the courage to deprive themselves of one or more days of wages” by going on strike, François Ruffin calls that said to find a “political outlet” to this mobilization. Otherwise he fears that “this reform produces a far-right vote“. He therefore evokes “the responsibility” which is incumbent on the parties of the left to transform “this resignation in hope”. “We must show that the political outlet is at home; we must be the labor party today”he believes.

To transform this social resentment “in hope”François Ruffin says to himself “in favor of a referendum of shared initiative”. He intends to plead his cause this Thursday with his parliamentary group, in order to “to take the fight to the democratic field”. “If all the unions are united, if all the left-wing parties are united, and if associations get involved, we will manage to reach 4.7 million signatures” needed to launch this shared initiative referendum on pensions, according to him.
