Saturday March 5, Laurence Boccolini and Stéphane Bern hosted Eurovision France. In her opening speech, the ex-host of the Weak Link had a thought for Ukraine, invaded for a few days by Russia.
“It is also a program placed under the sign of emotion. Even if Eurovision does not play politics, this institution has values. Above all, it has a heart, a heart that this evening will beat for the Ukrainian people. whose suffering we refuse to conceal. We wish that our Ukrainian friends find their free country, their families and peace as soon as possible. This evening, here, with all our hearts with Ukraine”.
Moreover, this last sentence was pronounced in Ukrainian. It is finally the group Alvan & Ahez who will represent France during the Eurovision final scheduled for May 14 in Turin (Italy). With 222 points, the Bretons came first in the votes of the jury, but also of the viewers. Alvan & Ahez will have the heavy task of doing as well as Barbara Pravi, winner of the revelation of the year at the Victoires de la Musique, and who came second in Rotterdam last year.
