Thirty less hospitalizations linked to COVID-19 in Quebec

Quebec reports six new deaths linked to COVID-19 on Wednesday, as well as a drop in hospitalizations.

The number of hospitalizations is now 1222, a decrease of 30 compared to the previous day. Sixty-nine patients are in intensive care, down from eight.

The Ministry of Health has recorded 1,426 new cases of COVID-19. However, this number is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority groups.

Since the start of the pandemic, 932,176 infections have been reported, and 14,126 of them have proven fatal.

A total of 104,709 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the platform put online by the government, including 81,757 positive. For the day on Tuesday, 417 tests were declared, including 319 positive.

According to the Ministry of Health, 12,995 tests were carried out on Tuesday and the positivity rate is 9.9%.

Regarding vaccination, 4942 doses have been administered in Quebec in the last 24 hours.

Among those aged 5 and over, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 87% received at least two doses and 52% received a third dose.
